Who Stands Behind the Guidance
Monica d’Errico-Franklin spent ten years in early childhood rooms before she trained as a speech-language pathologist. Watching hundreds of children who turned out completely fine is what taught her what ordinary actually looks like, and most parents never get to see that range. She has practiced clinically since 2022, holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is raising a small child of her own.
She started Talk Time Academy because the same questions kept arriving from parents who had already been told not to worry, and because being told not to worry is not the same as being given an answer. More about Monica.
What You Get From a Talk Time Academy Guide
Parents Are the Experts on Their Own Child
You know your child better than any chart does. Talk Time Academy supplies the knowledge and the wording. You decide what fits the child in front of you, and you are allowed to ask for an evaluation in writing.
The Reasoning Matters, Not Only the Instruction
Guidance sets out why something works, not only what to do. Follow the reasoning and you can adapt it, troubleshoot it, and argue for your child.
Children Develop at Different Rates
The ordinary range is wider than most charts suggest, and guidance says where a difference matters for neurodivergent children as much as for neurotypical ones.
No Parenting Camp to Join
Guidance sets out what the research supports and what professionals recommend. Nobody here is selling you a method, so you can take what fits and leave the rest.
Quizzes and Printables
Developmental Milestone Checklist
What most children do at each age from birth to six, with the research behind every line.
Speech and Language Quiz
Works through what your child is doing with language, and gives you the words other people use for it.
Mealtime Quiz
Works out how mealtimes run in your house, and which parts of fussy eating are ordinary at each age.
Meltdown Timing Quiz
Maps when your child’s hardest moments happen across a day, with a sheet to track them over a week.
The Parent Community
An answer tells you what is typical. The community is where you work out what it means for your own child, alongside parents at the same stage, with courses that go further than one page can and live sessions where you can ask.
See the community →What Talk Time Academy Does Not Do
Talk Time Academy does not diagnose, does not provide therapy, and cannot tell you whether your child needs an evaluation. A pediatrician or speech therapist that has sat with your child is the only person who can provide that answer.
You noticed something. That was the hard part.
In fifteen minutes you will know which areas are steady and which one is worth a closer look. Clinically reviewed before publication.
